The debated video that was recently released was W.A.P. with rappers Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. This video sparked many controversial topics from who should be in the video and whether the video is degrading women for the amount of explicitly. Altogether this video was entertaining and something the people wanted to see why recovering from staying at home during COVID-19.
While so many topics were being held around this video, the question is what was involved to make this most-talked about video during the COVID-19 pandemic. Cardi B has revealed in British Magazine, i-D, that $100,000 was spent on COVID-19 testing during the making of the music video for her Megan Thee Stallion collaboration W.A.P. Producers of the videos took precaution and decided to test everyone from the cast to the people behind the scenes even to the animals that were on set. Cardi B also talked about how she and Megan didn’t film with the animal well except the snakes, in which Megan later explained on an Instagram live that Cardi B was greatly terrified of. In fact, the scenes involving the animals were “spliced” to make it seem like the girls were with them.
Now, we can only imagine if the COVID-19 pandemic didn't exist, what the creation of the video really would have looked like without the special effects and with guests invited on set. It would have been epic but all in all the video was one for the 2020 year.
