Pinterest launches TwoYwenty to help companies increase innovation & awareness

Pinterest has built their platform on giving their users inspiration while continuing to evolve and innovate ways to sell products to enhance the customer experience. Now they’re looking to dive deeper into eCommerce to provide a broader platform for creators.

TwoTwenty is an in-house product incubator, experimental products team filled with dedicated engineers, designers, content, and product experts that will focus on innovations via interdisciplinary work such as testing and launching new ideas for Pinterest’s platform.

TwoTwenty’s first exploration has expanded into the realm of livestream shopping by recently launching Pinterest TV. Pinterest TV is yet another example of how dynamic the virtual ecosystem is when brands can capture consumers’ attention with a personalized shopping experience. Each episode will be live-streamed to feature a series of original and shoppable episodes along with top creators and influencers.

The initiative by Pinterest will actively oversee new project ideas through an online submission portal called the “Idea Factory” as well as from “Makeathons” (hackathon events) where they plan to further experiment with the ideas and prototypes to see if any ideas “are productionized at scale and handed off to other teams within the company.”

The TwoTwenty team then engages in prototyping, researching and testing to see which features may gain traction, and those that pass muster are developed at scale and moved forward to other teams within Pinterest.

Can't wait to see the collaborations and what the team comes up with next!
